A Leap Forward
This venue has transformed the traditional sports training experience into a vibrant social destination. Originally conceived as a baseball and softball training academy, The Ball Park Twin Cities took a leap forward with the addition of six HitTrax Suites. Now customers have the option of heading to the Ball Park to train or having a fun night out swinging for the fences with family and friends.
Finding a Niche Market
Originally, the group had planned to open a conventional training academy with 8 batting cages, using the HitTrax Pro system. Being lifelong baseball fans and already interested in working with HitTrax, the group was thrilled to learn about the HitTrax Suite Entertainment Simulator in late 2022. The Minneapolis area has a thriving golf simulator scene, with numerous businesses catering to indoor golf enthusiasts. Golf dominates the Minneapolis simulator market with over 40 golf simulator businesses in the metro area alone. As of 2023, there were 0 baseball themed simulator businesses in the area. The group immediately saw a major opportunity to differentiate themselves from the local competition; creating a niche that would become the first of its kind in the entire state.
“It’s very fun! This is a baseball simulator! You can come here and play all sorts of different games here. You can rent out a bay at a time. You choose any one of the Major League Baseball stadiums that you want to hit in. Home Run Derby has been a popular one. You set it up, tap the plate, it turns on, a pitch comes out of the screen, a softer ball, and they just go to town hitting!”
– Ryan Carlson, Co-Owner The Ballpark Twin Cities

The community in Blaine are raving about the entire experience. Most notably, the implementation of the HitTrax Suite has been one of the driving factors for The Ball Park’s early success.
